Volcafe Costa Rica is the largest exporter in the country, accounting for 30-35 percent of all Costa Rican yearly exports.
Founded 1970
And part of Volcafe's 170+ year history.
Volcafe operates two companies in Costa Rica: Café Capris, the exporting company, is the largest coffee exporter of the country; Beneficios Volcafe, the industrial operations company, operates four wet mills and one dry mill located in the main coffee-producing regions. Our milling operations are supported by a wide network of over 140 receiving stations, strategically located within each coffee community, to provide logistic support to farmers.
In the regions where Beneficios Volcafe does not source coffee cherries, Café Capris nurtures strategic alliances with green coffee suppliers, allowing us to source coffee from all eight Costa Rican denominations.
Ninety percent of our coffee is responsibly sourced, whether through our own scheme or external certifications.
All coffee is milled and then cupped on a daily basis, with 100-400 cups cupped daily.
We export everything from undergrades to 90+ microlots.
